Adult or Couple Therapy

Adults who come for therapy often want to know what they can anticipate from the process. It is important to establish specific expectations from the outset so that clients can evaluate changes as they occur as well as take satisfaction in the work of therapy.

Working through issues such as anxiety, loss/grief, depression and poor relationships happens on both internal and external levels. Clients begin the process by developing insight about themselves, their feelings and their old belief paradigms. As these internal feelings and beliefs are understood and worked through, it then becomes easier to make external life choices that are more optimistic and satisfactory. Behavior changes that follow from such self understanding  come naturally and tend to offer great relief.

Couples therapy includes much of this work, yet is more active and may include focus on couple dynamics, communication, resolving conflicts and reconnecting.
